Your neighbors, your friends, your first responders. The Halstad Volunteer Fire Department stands ready 24/7 to protect the community we call home.
The Halstad Volunteer Fire Department isn't staffed by strangers in uniform. We're the people you wave to at the grocery store, the parents at the school playground, and the families who share the same small-town values that make Halstad special.
When the alarm sounds, we drop everything — dinner on the stove, homework at the kitchen table, games on the TV — and we run toward what matters most: the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our community. That's not just a job. It's a promise.

Fire, rescue & EMS support
Education & prevention focus
Deep roots in Halstad
From structure fires to medical emergencies, our volunteer firefighters are trained and equipped to handle whatever your community needs.
Rapid response to structural, vehicle, and wildland fires across Halstad and surrounding areas. Our crews train continuously to handle any fire scenario.
First response medical care while waiting for advanced life support. Our volunteers maintain current certifications to deliver critical care in those first vital minutes.
Vehicle extrication, water rescue, confined space, and technical rescue. We invest in specialized equipment and ongoing training for complex scenarios.
Inspections, code enforcement, and community education programs. We believe the best emergency is the one that never happens — and prevention starts with you.
Trained response to hazardous material incidents, including chemical spills and agricultural emergencies common to our rural community.
Fire safety demonstrations, CPR classes, station tours, and youth programs. We're here to educate and empower every member of our community.
The Halstad Volunteer Fire Department runs on the time, talent, and dedication of everyday people who decide that their community deserves better. You don't need prior experience — you just need the willingness to show up and help.
